Personal Portraits

Personal portraits go beyond mere images, they encapsulate a person’s essence and emotions in a single frame.  Personal portraits are generally informal and relaxed, perhaps candid, but most of all they are real. The aim is not to compose beauty, or to create art, but to capture and present the subject as they are. Upon viewing a portrait, we should think more about the person than the image, we should have an insight into their individual style and character. A great personal portrait is something to cherish, a keepsake that can provide a memory of the person and of our feelings towards that person.

It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.
